Remarkable Judgments made by Supreme Court Recently

Judiciary, As we all know that It is the third pillar of our Democracy and The Supreme Court of India is the torchbearer of justice - Objective, impartial and incorruptible. There have been several instances when the Supreme Court proved that law is the same for every citizen of India and nobody in this country is above law.
From last few days, there have been several remarkable judgments made by the Supreme Court of India.

Let's have a look at some of these:

1)Amendments in Section 377
Decriminalising Homosexuality
This was one of the most important judgments by the supreme court recently, As before the amendments in this law the people of LGBT community were criminals in their own country without actually committing a crime. There were a few people in our county who used to say that Homosexuality is unnatural and It is a type of disease that can be cured but the recent Supreme Court Verdict was a slap on such people.

2)Changes in Aadhar Law
Not required to link Aadhar with  Bank Accounts and Phone Numbers
The long-awaited Supreme Court judgment on the constitutional validity of Aadhar was finally out and now there is no need to link your Aadhar with your mobile number and Bank Accounts. There were many people who opposed the Aadhar Law because as per them It violated the privacy but after this verdict, it is no longer necessary to link Bank Accounts and Mobile Numbers with Aadhar and the educational bodies like CBSE or UGC cannot force anyone for Aadhar. However, It is still compulsory to link Aadhar with PAN.

3)Changes in Section 497
Adultery is not a crime anymore
The Supreme Court on Thursday decriminalized adultery said It is a British era law, Section 497 of the Indian Penal Code, terming it as unconstitutional, archaic and manifestly arbitrary. As per the Decision of Supreme Court, Adultery can be a valid reason for Divorce but It is not a criminal Act.
It was one of the progressive judgments made by the supreme court, As The court clearly said that "Husband is not the Master of Wife" and wife is not her husband's subordinate and time had come for society to realize that a woman is as equal to a man in every respect.

4)Sabarimala Verdict
Supreme Court opens the doors of Lord Ayyappa to all Women
This was yet another progressive judgments made by the Supreme Court. Today, the court lifts the 800 years old ban on entry of women on Sabarimala Temple. The five-judge Constitution Bench headed by CJI Dipak Misra said that barring women into the temple is gender discrimination as this practice violates the rights of Hindu women to worship and all women should be allowed to enter the temple.
